DallasGOLD™ is a men’s basketball team that rosters former pro-level players, current professional skills level athletes and aspiring highly competitive player. The team is part of the WePlay4theCause Sports Program, founded by Coach Barbara Davis, based in Dallas, Texas. This is a new formed team as of 2025 and will compete in its first competitions, Summer 2025. The team will also be a part of an undisclosed professional basketball league starting the 2025-2026 season. Ms. Davis previously owned the Texas Hurricanes, a former pro-minor exhibition men's basketball team out of Dallas from 2008 through 2011. Coach Davis too a step back from sports due to health reasons and has returned for the love of the game.
The DallasGOLD™ team will compete year round in various leagues and tournaments, including some special events, at the professional playing level and compete in several advanced skills levels. This team of aspiring talented athletes will also have an opportunity to work towards professional playing opportunities abroad. Players that are a part of this team and the WePlay4theCause Sports program will play year-round, rather in a professional league or tournaments, these committed players will continue to develop and enhance their natural skills in addition to building their player bio, stats and getting seen, in hopes to continuing their professional basketball career, stateside or overseas.
DallasGOLD™ is one of several sports teams and or clubs under the WePlay4theCause Sports Program. This program has significant meaning to Coach Davis! She is currently a breast cancer warrior, which is the driving force behind the sports program. Each game, tournament or event we host as a team or a part of with the program, a portion of those proceeds will be donated to a cause. Hence the name and slogan. We are dedicated to building community and community give back, while bringing awareness to various causes. Our dedication can be seen and accomplished through our youth sports programs, the Dallas Trojans, community enrichment and events, and more! WePlay4theCause Sports is committed to all of our athletes personal and professional growth on and off the court. We are NOT just another team… We are community advocates, leaders in the game and hometown hero's. WE ARE BLACK-n-GOLD! WE ARE FAMILY!
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
For more than twenty-two [22] years, Coach Barbara Davis has been dedicated to helping others, building and growing programs, coordinating community events, and providing entertainment that is family friendly.
The DallasGOLD™ players will have an opportunity to bring awareness to many causes, issues and projects throughout the community and help raise funds to support them, all while elevating their love for the game.
This team will also be very involved in their communities through offering youth camps, clinics, and team. You will see them in schools, childcare centers, recreation centers, and other events.
Most camps will be a minimum of a week, Monday through Friday, either half-day or full day and typically when school is not in session.
Most clinics are 1-2 days long and usually held on the weekend or when school is not in session.
We will be offering a “summer sports team” that will run from beginning of May through end of August.
RECRUITING
As we are a new team, we are seeking to fill EVERY seat on the roster.
Players are recruited from across the DFW and others may come tryout from other states. They are drafted based on their professional basketball skills level, ability to be coachable, character and integrity, professionalism, and commitment to the team and community. WE DO NOT PLACE PLAYERS BASED JUST OFF PLAYER BIOS OR ANOTHER PLAYER RECOMMENDATION. EVERYONE WILL NEED TO TRYOUT.
We are currently looking for a HEAD COACH & DIRECTOR OF PLAYER DEVELOPMENT, that will help develop these talented players in addition, bring their wealth of knowledge and experience grow the program as a whole.
We believe in creating opportunities and community partnerships. Which means we partner with several colleges to offer internship positions to students that are in various degree fields. Interns placement include but not limited to, personal trainer, coaching, marketing, public relations, web design, broadcasting, media production, social media, and more!

DallasGOLD™ will officially hold it's 1st tryout May 13, 2025. CLICK HERE for more information and registration. DallasGOLD™ will play in its 1st competition Summer 2025 with its 1st season beginning in the upcoming 2025-2026 season. Location and league TBD. DallasGOLD™ plans to host other events where athletes will have an opportunity to showcase their talents in hopes to be a part of this new and exciting team!
